Probably one of the better burritos in North County. The meat was flavorful and the rest of the filling complimented it very well. Will definitely be back. The prices were very reasonable which is a bonus.

My family has been coming to Esperanza's for the tortillas and masa para tamales since the shop opened in 1980. I remember going in as a little girl with my mother and grandmother and now I bring my daughters. It's become an Escondido icon and I'm not surprised it's remained in business this long. The carnicería has a variety of meats and at pretty decent prices, can't say anything about the prepared foods as I've never tried anything (although the smell is enticing).. try their masa and their tortillas if you haven't, always fresh!

We needed ice, tortillas and onions for a large party. Esperanza didn't disappoint. They even carted out my ice and loaded it into my vehicle. Heard the birria and menudo was absolutely amazing. We'll be back

Why do people buy tortillas at big box stores? I have asked my wife multiple times about this - Pretty much lost count. In my opinion, people should just use cardboard if they are looking for convenience and savings. My wife never knew that I only bought tortillas from local factories before we got married. I kept telling her that bad tortillas can make a great meal horrible while freshly made ones can make a mediocre meal almost great at a bare minimum good. I finally had enough and bought a few bags from Esperanza's Tortilleria. They did not drop the ball. My wife may not admit it, but I can see on her face that the freshly made tortillas made an enormous difference. Moving forward, we will only buy our tortillas from Esperanza's!

This place was a gem, I'm so glad I found it! Homemade tortillas still hot when we grabbed them. I also snagged one of their homemade salsas that was great. I decided to try the breakfast burrito and it was very solid. Loved that it was under 10 bucks for the burrito. Great ratio, red salsa was spicy. I will be back again!

This is the best place to get your chicharrone con carne and people know it! I definitely recommend ordering ahead because I heard they do sell out!

Legit tortilla factory with an efficient Mexican grocery, carneceria AND taco shop built in. Had one of the best Pollo Asado tortas I've had in some time while waiting for my car at Pep Boys. Super authentic. The roll may have been the best ever. Not sure if it was baked on premise earlier that day, but it sure tasted like it. Chicken was very flavorful- marinated, well seasoned and grilled to order. Never seen taquitos sold individually before. I assume made to order, mix and match. Bring your own water bottle, because $2.69 for a 20 oz Coke was a nasty surprise. Pleasant service. Looking forward to trying other things on my next visit!
